
While Microsoft has really brought the Facebook experience to the desktop in the most complete manner with its Silverlight Client for Facebook, it did miss out one important aspect: Facebook Chat. To be honest that is one of the most wanted yet an equally problematic feature that drastically reduces browsing speed. I was quite surprised as to why Microsoft left this feature out its client.
Enough bragging about features being missed or not, if you are really into having a Facebook chat client then try Chit Chat for Facebook. I will call it MSN messengers version of Facebook, though without any intentions of taking away the credit from the hard work the team has put. There isn’t much you need to do and the installation is breeze. Simply download the setup from here and go about installing it just like you would any other software. Once the installation is done you can log on using your Facebook credentials to chat away.
The interface to begin with is really simple and eases chatting on the social network. It displays the list of friends who are online and offline much like they are on your Windows Messenger. You can click on a friend’s name to begin a chat session in a new window and it has the needed emoticons and the basic text editors. I have been using it all this while and I find it quite useful to help me with the chatting issue.
