Show notes & Credits: Web 2.0 Expo Berlin, Stowe Boyd

Today I had the pleasure to do a keynote session about Social Media - New Tools for New Innovations.
During my presentation I talked about the second Internet generation we are living in and what will define tomorrow’s network. The bottom line was about how applications built for collective intelligence can support and optimize the innovation process.
Audience: The Finnish regional managers that invited me + external audience (the event was free and open to the public)

I read a news story about Matti Makkonen. He got the innovation prize of The Economist. He was said to be the father of the short message service (SMS). In Finland inventors and technically skilled persons have traditionally been popular.

Yesterday I asked if there is any interesting cultural points of view about web 2.0 and today I found one new article as an answer to my question. Young workers, the millennial generation, will make no essential difference comparing with previous generations.
So, perhaps also the idea of the new generation of learners with essentially different learning ways is a myth.

Today I read an interesting point and conversation following that opinion about web 2.0 and social media. Chris Brogan’s blog had an visitor, Dennis Fowlett who started from naming Web 2.0 Expo in Berlin boring and went on critizising the benefits of web 2.0.

Tunnollisesti olen ottanut huomioon opetussuunnitelman tavoitteet mm. toimisto-ohjelmien käytön opettelusta.

The panel was running around new media & mainstream media. It was interesting but I would have rather pushed the conversation a bit further, trying to brake the line of common topics about which we daily discuss online.
