I’m playing with the Nokia’s new service Nokia Fried View as I type this. I downloaded the software on my phone this morning and been using it through out the day.
In short the service wants to be a location aware microbloggin service.

Nokia, the Finnish mobile phone giant, has announced to shed 600 jobs.

Just recently Nokia, the Finnish born mobile phone manufacturer, put up a competition to find the most innovative mobile apps. We believe this might be part of a bigger initiative to reach out to startups in the wake of what App Store has done for Apple.

Concilio Networks is a Finnish startup offering a solution that allows users of normal existing handsets to import their internet contacts from social networks.
In effect, Concilio Networks’ Community Connect Solution (CCS) extends Internet communities, social networks and Internet voice- and chat services to any existing mobile handset.

Panel: The social media side of mainstream
Timo Vuorensola & Atte Joutsen (Star Wreck Studios Ltd.), Jouni Kantonen (Red Tail Media), Antti Seppänen (Intervisio), Damien Marchi (Fremantle).
The panel was running around new media & mainstream media. It was interesting but I would have rather pushed the conversation a bit further, trying to brake the line of common topics about which we daily discuss online.

I received several phone calls yesterday where I was asked about what is happening at Nokia and whether they are buying the Finnish SMS based social intention broadcasting application Zipiko.
